Let’s just say it like it is, I am a west end girl through and through, but with much convincing I took a little trip waaaaay over to the east to visit ‘The Beach’…

As much as I claim I hate winter, it still makes me feel calm and gentle being wrapped up in scarves and walking down empty streets.

I love finding photos on my camera that I never looked at before!
In August 2011 we took a drive from eastern Ontario over to western Ontario…slow and steady….
The views were spectacular, as were the hoards of deer flies, hence the rolled up windows.

The best part about finishing pieces is that all of sudden, I am once again inspired to make and create and explore. It’s pretty easy to get into funks, especially when hibernation is definitely on my mind.
If youre up for some explorations of your own, check out the 24th Annual Contemporary Canadian Jewellery Exhibition (Nov. 24 – Dec. 31) at L.A. Pai Gallery, 13 Murray Street, Ottawa, On.

Pearl, knit, knit, pearl.
Of course Isobel and Cleo, a clothing line coming out of both Scotland and Nantucket Island, is beautiful. Charlotte Hess, the senior knitwear designer, is a graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and The Glasgow School of Art.
I would wear this….

Oh my, what beautiful things you have! I think I have previously talked about ABC Carpet and Home in NYC but I really should just mention it again.
I never really looked into the online version of the glorious institution, but here goes, AMAZING! I love the (very small selection) vintage textile section. I want all! I’m on a little bit of a bedding kick, as the weather cools down I want quilts, and wools, and pelts and knits…I won’t bother continuing.

I’m not interested in small frilly detailed hand bags, not in the slightest. I am however, highly lusting after these gorgeous men’s bags!!

I often find myself carrying a medium sized tan bubble of a leather sack with black sharpie writing covering its surface, for those who know me well, it is my tool box. It is filled to the brim with tobacco tins stuffed with beads, yarns in all shades of black, needles ranging from sturdy to fragile, and anything else that I just might happen to need.
All of a sudden…I wish I was carrying around this dopp kit instead…

I do, and always will, judge a book by its cover. This mentality is not exclusive to literature, it also applies to any food product, bottles of wine, technology, and, really I could use this as an excuse for all purchases I make.
As I glance around my room I see a fair number of Zadie Smith books, not only do I love her writing but my goodness, her cover designs blow me away!
So glad my shallow buying techniques introduced me to a fabulous read!

Having denied myself the time to truely paruse the vaste world wide web, I recently began my explorations once more. I am very much a red light green light sort of person.
I came across this shop, Metrode, which unfortunately is closed for the next few weeks, but I am eagerly awaiting its reopen after viewing its lovelies on their blog. Drool.
